El alcohol graso es un aglutinante que también puede encontrarse en champús y jabones. Sirve para mantener unidos los ingredientes del producto. Se agregan alcoholes grasos a los productos para que, al comprimirse los demás ingredientes, se mantengan unidos en forma sólida. Por este motivo, los alcoholes grasos se utilizan para mejorar la consistencia de los productos en forma líquida o de gel, o para estabilizar espumas.
