Definition:
Secondary Alcohol Ethoxylate
Secondary Alcohol Ethoxylate is a detergent that can also be found in cleaners and detergents. It is also used in fermentation processes for brewing, paints and coatings, and paper and textile manufacturing. It’s often used, in very small quantities, as an emulsifier. This ingredient is widely used because it biodegrades relatively rapidly. As an emulsifier, it helps bind ingredients together and keep a formula from separating. Over time, it is possible for formulas in a product to separate. Adding emulsifiers helps ensure that our products provide the same performance use after use.
