If we wouldn’t want it for our family, we wouldn’t ask you to use it near yours. We don’t formulate our products with these ingredients:
A toilet cleaning system that cleans and freshens the toilet with each flush.
Break down dirt and deposits.
Beheneth-30 is a cleaning agent that can also be found in a variety of makeup products such as eyeliner. It can be used to form a sticky gel that allows the cleaner to cling to a surface. Beheneth-30 is particularly good at removing dirt, so it is a good choice for products such as toilet bowl cleaners.
Ceteareth-30 is a cleaning agent that can also be found in personal care products including hand creams, body oils, anti-aging treatments and facial cleansers. It can be used to form a sticky gel that allows the cleaner to cling to a surface. Ceteareth-30 is particularly good at removing dirt so it is a good choice for products such as toilet bowl cleaners. There is some debate about this ingredient’s use in cosmetics. However, since we use this ingredient in a toilet cleaning product, and not applied to the skin, we believe it is acceptable for use, and importantly it’s a key ingredient that helps our products give the performance you expect.
Ethoxylated Alcohol is a cleaning agent that can also be found in a variety of products including toothpaste and shampoos. It removes dirt and deposits by surrounding dirt particles to loosen them from the surface they're attached to, so they can be rinsed away. Ethoxylation is the process of treating a fatty acid alcohol to give it detergent properties.
For competitive reasons, the supplier of this proprietary polymer solution has asked us to keep the details confidential, and we're legally bound to do so. Sodium Laureth Sulfate is a cleaning agent that can also be found in toothpastes, shampoos, lathers and bubble baths. It removes dirt and deposits by surrounding dirt particles to loosen them from the surface they're attached to, so they can be rinsed away. Over the years, Sodium Laureth Sulfate has received some bad press due to emails that began circulating in the late 90s regarding alleged cancer concerns related to Sodium Laurel Sulfate, a different but related ingredient.
Blending agents that ensure even distribution of the ingredients.
Glycerin is a moisturizer that can also be found in personal care products such as skin lotion. It helps prevent a product from drying out and breaking apart. It works by drawing water in and forming a barrier on a surface to help retain moisture.
PEG-150 (polyethylene glycol) is an emulsifier that can also be found in soaps, shampoos and body washes. It helps bind ingredients together and keep a formula from separating. PEG-150 is an alcohol that helps hold mixtures of oil and water together. Over time, it is possible for formulas in a product to separate. Helps maintain a product formula over time.
White mineral oil is a clear liquid carrier that can also be found in a wide variety of cosmetics, personal care and household products. A carrier does just what it sounds like - it helps carry a product to a surface by thinning or thickening the formula or simply ensuring even distribution of the other ingredients in the formula. Without a carrier, the product would not work with the same consistency across a surface. White Mineral Oil can also be used as a cleaning agent that removes dust, dirt and soils, or as a stabilizer that helps maintain a product formula when exposed to air, light or heat.
Provides a pleasing color for a product.
Acid Blue 9 is a colorant. It is one of the most widely used and tested dyes in consumer products, and can be found in clothing and colored paper. Dyes are added to products for a variety of reasons including helping you see where you applied the product, when a product is used up, or for aesthetic reasons.
FD&C Yellow 5 is a colorant. Dyes are added to products for a variety of reasons including helping you see where you applied the product, when a product is used up, or for aesthetic reasons. Protects a product against microbial growth to maintain performance.
Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate is a preservative that can also be found in skin creams and shampoos. It helps maintain product quality and performance over time. Some people raise concerns about preservatives, because a small number of individuals have allergies to them just as some people have allergies to nuts or bees. But preservatives play a very important role in food, cosmetics and household products. Without preservatives, many products would not last more than a week or two before being contaminated by bacteria, mold or yeast. So, we feel the best choice is to add preservatives in the smallest effective quantity to protect our products, but to list these preservatives in our formulas so that those with allergies in the family can make informed choices.
