Secondary alcohol ethoxylate is a cleaning agent, or "surfactant," that can be found in cleaners and detergents. This ingredient is widely used because it biodegrades relatively rapidly. It is also used, in very small quantities, as an emulsifier. As an emulsifier, it helps bind ingredients together and keep a formula from separating. Over time, it is possible for formulas in a product to separate. We add emulsifiers to our products, where needed, to ensure that our products provide the same performance use after use.
Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)Antioxidant
Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) is a stabiliser that can also be found in cosmetics and moisturisers. It acts as an antioxidant – we use it to help maintain the properties and performance of a product as it is exposed to air. European and U.S. regulators have approved BHT for use in food. Some concerns have been raised over its use as a food additive, however our products containing BHT are not intended for ingestion, so we feel that its use is acceptable.
