Nous avons ajouté des informations sur les allergènes cutanés dans nos produits dans le cadre de notre engagement de transparence.
COMPRENDRE LES ALLERGÈNES CUTANÉS
Un allergène cutané (également appelé allergène dermique ou de contact) désigne toute substance que le système immunitaire reconnaît comme une menace et attaque. Cependant, il est important de garder à l’esprit que la présence d’un allergène cutané dans un produit ne signifie pas qu’il provoquera automatiquement le développement d’une sensibilité allergique chez une personne.
Les allergies cutanées peuvent être créées ou provoquées lorsqu’une personne est exposée à un allergène dans la durée et au-delà d’une certaine dose minimum. C’est ce que l’on appelle « l’induction ». Après avoir développé une allergie cutanée à une certaine substance, cette personne peut avoir une réaction telle qu’une rougeur ou une éruption. C’est ce que l’on appelle « l’élicitation ». Le développement de la réaction dépend en grande partie de la dose ou de la quantité à laquelle la personne a été exposée. Chez SC Johnson, nous veillons à utiliser des ingrédients contenant des allergènes cutanés uniquement dans des quantités si faibles qu’il est très peu probable que cela provoque une nouvelle allergie cutanée ou déclenche une réaction allergique cutanée. Cependant, les individus sujets à des allergies cutanées apprécieront de savoir si un ingrédient particulier est présent dans le produit.
POURQUOI DIVULGUER DES INFORMATIONS SUR LES ALLERGÈNES CUTANÉS ?
Nous cherchons continuellement à renforcer la transparence de nos produits. Depuis le lancement de notre site Web en 2009, nous avons progressivement ajouté des informations concernant les colorants (2009), les agents conservateurs (2011) et les parfums (2012). En 2015, nous avons divulgué jusqu’à 99,9 % de la composition des parfums propres à nos produits pour la plupart de nos articles, et en 2016, nous avons lancé notre première collection de désodorisants avec une transparence totale concernant les parfums.
Nous voulons fournir aux familles encore plus d’informations sur les produits qu’elles utilisent chez elles, c’est pourquoi notre divulgation sur les allergènes cutanés va au-delà des réglementations existant dans l’Union européenne ainsi qu'aux États-Unis, où aucune règle n’exige la transparence en matière d’allergènes.
À PROPOS DE NOTRE LISTE
Afin de déterminer quels ingrédients inclure à notre liste de divulgation des allergènes cutanés, nous avons mis au point un processus d’évaluation rigoureux avec un groupe de conseil scientifique composé d’experts en dermatologie, en immunotoxicologie, en toxicologie des parfums et en allergènes.
Le comité d’experts qui a validé les méthodes d’études comptait parmi ses membres :
- David Basketter, titulaire d'un doctorat ès sciences, consultant indépendant et expert international reconnu dans le domaine de l’allergie ; ancien directeur de la recherche sur la sécurité chez Unilever

Nous avons analysé près de 3 000 séries de données provenant de l’industrie et de sources publiques pour identifier les allergènes cutanés potentiels figurant dans les listes réglementaires des pays, les listes de l’industrie du parfum, les ressources du comité scientifique européen sur la sécurité des consommateurs, les données cliniques en dermatologie et les fiches de données de sécurité de fournisseurs individuels.
